The internship program offered by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, in collaboration with SAIIA, presents a distinctive opportunity for individuals to undertake a Master’s degree in disciplines such as International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Law, Journalism, or other related areas at select universities in South Africa. This initiative includes a comprehensive bursary covering tuition fees, a monthly allowance for living expenses, and hands-on experience at SAIIA’s offices located in Johannesburg or Cape Town. Eligibility Criteria for Konrad Adenauer Foundation SAIIA Scholarships
To qualify for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation SAIIA Scholarships, applicants must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Applicants should be 30 years old or younger.
  • Candidates must fulfill the admission criteria for a Master’s degree at either the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, or the University of the Western Cape.
  • Applications can be made for either the Johannesburg or Cape Town internship programs, but not for both simultaneously.
  • Prospective scholars are encouraged to thoroughly examine SAIIA’s research opportunities to ensure they align with their selected university and internship office.
  • Students who have completed their first year of a Master’s program are ineligible to apply.
  • All applications must be submitted by 21 September 2024.
  • Candidates should address any questions about their university application status in their cover letter.
