Since the inception of the scholarship scheme by RGC in 2009, many students have reaped its benefits and engaged in transformative research. Hong Kong fellows have made significant contributions across diverse fields, including science, medicine, engineering, humanities, and economics.
Benefits of the Hong Kong Fellowship Scheme 2025-26:
- The fellows will receive an annual stipend of HK$337,200 (approximately US$43,230 for up to three years.
- The fellows will receive a travel allowance of HK$14,000 (approximately US$1,790) annually for conferences and research-related relocation.
- Additional Support will be provided by the university if the PhD extends from 3 years.
- No prior work experience is required.
- No application is required for the initial fellowship application.
Eligibility Requirements for the Hong Kong Fellowship Scheme 2025-26:
- Applicants must be newly enrolled full-time PhD students. Individuals from any nationality are welcome to apply.
- It is essential for candidates to demonstrate that their previous university education was conducted in English.
- If the candidate’s previous education was not in English, they must submit an English Proficiency Certificate.
- Those who are not new PhD students may still apply for this fellowship if they are seeking admission to a different full-time PhD program.
- Candidates must select from a specified list of 8 universities
