Under the overall supervision of the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA),

responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support for finance
  • Assisting AP and AR accountants
  • Assisting in the submission of monthly tax returns to relevant tax authorities
  • Preparing financial documents and journal entries for accuracy.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the SFA.

Requirements for Finance Intern Internship Program Qualification

Essential: The ideal candidate should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to be discreet when handling sensitive financial information.
  • A willingness to learn.
  • Be detail-oriented
  • Be analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • Experience in development of statistics, charts in Excel

Management and Support for the role:

The intern will report to the Senior Financial Accountant based in Lagos, and will be expected to work closely with other members of the Finance team.

All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with the overarching policies and procedures of the British Council, such as Equal Opportunities & Diversity, Information Management, Child Protection, and any other applicable corporate policy.

Qualification

Maximum of 3 years post-NYSC in any discipline.
Contract Duration – 1 year

The individual in this role must possess the necessary authorization to reside and work in Nigeria.

Language requirements: Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
