University Of Manchester Equity and Merit Scholarships for International Masters Students

The Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations chart a course towards a more equitable and sustainable future for all. Our Equity and Merit Scholarships are designed to empower emerging professionals from the Global South to develop solutions that address these interconnected objectives.

These scholarships are aimed at academically outstanding students who possess the potential to make a meaningful impact on sustainable development in their respective countries.

The awards are specifically for individuals who would be unable to pursue their studies in Manchester without financial assistance. We uphold a commitment to equal opportunity, evaluating all applications based on their individual merits. We particularly encourage female candidates to apply.

We provide two categories of scholarships:

  • Full-time, on-campus master’s programs (one-year duration).
  • Part-time, distance learning master’s programs (three to five years duration).

A total of 40 scholarships are available, with 30 designated for full-time study and ten for online study, covering a variety of disciplines including engineering, environment, health sciences, development, education, textiles, and law. This initiative is open to applicants from Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Aim and Benefits of University Of Manchester Equity and Merit Scholarships

The scholarships cover full tuition fees, and for students who will be studying in Manchester, the award includes return international airfares, living expenses and visas.
