AFC Fellowship for Young Africans: Empowering the Next Generation.

The AFC Fellowship serves as a platform for leadership development and facilitates dialogue and collaboration among emerging leaders from the global South and North. The program is centered around addressing the shared climate challenge and other significant global issues. Its aim is to empower a group of dynamic emerging leaders who will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the global North and South, and in finding innovative solutions to the climate crisis as they advance in their careers.

In order to become a part of the AFC Fellowship, the initial requirement is to gain acceptance into the Climate Challenge Leadership Programme. Those who are selected will become part of a group of 40 individuals with diverse backgrounds and from various sectors and countries. The Climate Challenge Leadership Programme consists of two main components: Leading Beyond Authority, Climate Challenge, and The Fellows community.

  1. AFC Fellowship Goals and Advantages
    Attendees will:

Improve their capacity to Lead Beyond Authority, enabling them to collaborate across borders;

  • a crucial skill for tackling intricate issues
  • Expand their connections by engaging with a variety of participants, contributors, and speakers from around the world, creating opportunities they wouldn’t have otherwise
  • Enhance their analytical and creative abilities through exposure to a fresh innovation methodology
  • Refine their influencing skills by presenting their discoveries to senior leaders
  • Create innovative ideas and strategies to address this significant challenge.

    2 .AFC Fellowship Qualification Criteria
    Candidates eligible for the AFC Fellowship will include up-and-coming leaders hailing from various industries, backgrounds, and regions worldwide.
    Eligible fellows should meet the following criteria:
  • Emerging leaders with at least 5 years of professional experience
  • Individuals driven by a strong sense of purpose, showcasing dedication to instigate positive transformations, and capable of proving their leadership skills
  • Passionate about environmental concerns or possessing relevant experience in the field
  • Aged 18 years or above
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English
  • Willing and able to fully commit to the Fellowship period.
