Criteria for Eligibility for the University of Tokyo ADB-JSP Scholarship:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of full-time professional experience gained after obtaining their university degree at the time of application.

  • Applicants should be no older than 35 years at the time of application, although exceptions may be made with the explicit approval of the Government of Japan.
  • Good health is a prerequisite.
  • Additionally, candidates must commit to returning to their home country for at least two years following the completion of their studies to contribute to its development.
  • Individuals who are Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management, staff, or consultants of ADB, or their close relatives, are ineligible.
  • Staff members of ADB-JSP designated institutions are also excluded.
  • Furthermore, applicants should not be residing or working in a country other than their home country and must not already be enrolled in any graduate degree programs.
